Mark joined the NHS in his 30s after leaving his household's organization without any formal credentials, but a drive to make a distinction. ' I attempted to turn off a bedside light and felt like something wasn't ideal with me. I understood immediately it was a stroke.' In July 2023, after an active holiday kayaking and walking, Bob unexpectedly had a stroke. He was flown by air ambulance to University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he spent 4 weeks restoring. 'I utilized the health club regularly and did neurorehabilitation online (NROL)'. NROL is a group rehab program for people who have actually had a stroke or have other neurological conditions. 'I had a structured schedule which offered me something to anticipate every week - socially, psychologically and emotionally.' Bob thanked NHS staff for 'the great support' and the continuous physiotherapy he got. Well done Bob and excellent work group! Early recognition of stroke signs can save lives. ' Working together with nurses and seeing the difference they made inspired me to think, 'I could do that!" Meet Sharon, a sexual health nurse and non-medical prescriber who started her nursing journey in 1985 at the Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital. In 2010 she signed up with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and continues to serve patients in Hertfordshire. 'I liked helping people and discovering about the body, so nursing simply felt right.' Sharon shows. Sharon has actually operated in male infertility, menopause, miscarriage and colposcopy to call a few, revealing the wide variety of locations in which nurses make a distinction. 'Truly, I can't think about a location where nurses don't make an impact in some type,' Sharon confesses.
