While Epic has experimented with options like Fortnite Season OG and allowing players to create custom Chapter 1 islands in Creative mode, none fully captured the essence of the original experience.
Now, over five years after Chapter 1 ended, fans' wishes have finally come true with the addition of a permanent Fortnite OG game mode. Unlike the limited-time seasonal version, Fortnite OG closely replicates the original gameplay. According to the in-game news feed, the Legendary Bush item will return in patch v33.11, set to accompany the next update. While Epic has yet to confirm the release time, trusted community leaks suggest the update will drop on December 18, just ahead of the Winterfest event.
For those unfamiliar with the Bush item, it epitomizes classic Fortnite with its quirky gameplay mechanic. When equipped, the Bush disguises players by making their character resemble one of the island's natural bushes. This camouflage allows players to blend into the environment, often avoiding detection from others who may overlook nearby shrubbery.
However, the Bush isn't just a tool for stealth—it also offers unique defensive benefits. As a Legendary item, it absorbs the first hit a player takes after equipping it.
