Escape From Tarkov Flea Market Banned Items List For 12.12.30

The 12.12 patch controversially introduced a fair amount of Escape From Tarkov flea market banned items to the game, preventing players from both selling and buying specific loot, weapons, or EFT Roubles armour on the game's player driven marketplace. Your gear in Escape From Tarkov often defines how successful each raid is, so locking away a lot of the high tier items proved troublesome for some. So, if you want to see the full list of Escape From Tarkov banned items, up to date from the 12.12.30 patch, keep on reading down below.

Why Are Certain Items Banned From The Flea Market?

The main reason that specific items have been banned from the Escape From Tarkov flea market is to try and curb the acceleration of player progression early on in the wipe. Most, if not all, of the gear items hit with the ban hammer are high level things like class five/six armour and high penetration ammo. For players to have instant access to this at level 15 when the flea unlocks (provided someone is there to sell it, of course) causes a potentially massive power imbalance for those with the money to spend early on.

It instead puts an emphasis on levelling up your traders, as that is the 'real' way Battlestate wants you to get access to the gear. And unless you're a Tarkov god, or play literally non-stop, you won't be able to reach these higher trader levels until for a while after a new wipe.

This is also a semi-indirect action against cheaters and real money trading (RMT) as well, as those who would buy Roubles with real life money outside of the game are likely the players who are able to most consistently afford the prices of the best gear early on.

Generally though, it is an attempt to make a lot of the best items and gear less ubiquitous, meaning that the meta is more varied and players don't feel like they have to run the same gear all the time - at least not in the early and mid-wipe.
